9 Best Wood Chairs For Your Dining Table

wood dining chairs

I recently read a funny Reddit thread on home decor trends. There was a commenter who was lamenting about how hard it was to find the right dining chair and said something like, “Where can I find a normal looking, well made wood chair for a decent price?”

It made me laugh because it can be so overwhelming to wade through all of the options, especially with thousands of chairs available to us after one single Google search. Luckily, I actually enjoy keeping up on the latest in home decor and like rounding up all my favorites that I see in each category. So, I thought I’d do another dining chair round-up, this time looking for classic, well-made, wood dining chairs – in honor of that Reddit poster. I hope they find this 🙂

9 Best Wood Dining Chairs:

1 Kaysville Curved Back Dining Chair – Love this one. Looks so much more expensive than it is! Available in 4 beautiful colors and chairs are a 2-pack for $180, so $90 a chair. That means you could get 4 chairs for your table for under $400. Not a bad deal at all!

2. Juni Bleached Ash Dining Chair – Obsessed with this gorgeous white-washed color. Also available in a chic black. Currently on sale 30% off!!

3. Aaron Dining Chair – A classic and cozy x-back dining chair in a classic oak wood color. Also available in 4 more wood stain options and an armchair style, so you can outfit your entire grand dining room table with these chairs. This design never goes out of style.

4. Sausalito Dining Chair – The shape and design gives French country, but the rattan back is coastal chic. Love the vibe and how it will glam up a space, while also keeping it comfortable.

5. Classic Cafe Dining Chair – The dining chair version of the bestselling bar and counter stool design. The midcentury modern flare of this design is going to add a little personality to your space. Here’s a similar version for a more affordable price available in lots of options.

6. Cadence Dining Chair with Linen Natural Seat – Obsessed with this dining chair, it is French bistro style at its finest. Reminds me of the old school Restoration Hardware designs before they went super modern. So chic and this natural weathered stain is perfection. Also available in 2 other stains.

7. Windsor Dining Spindle Chair – The perfect spindle chair does not exis…….oh wait. Yes it does. This one is so good, super affordable, and available in several colors. Many years ago I had these in red and it was such a fun punch of color. They outlasted us in terms of quality and I ended up selling them when we moved and went with a blue home aesthetic. I would 100% buy these again.

8. Poly & Bark Weave Chair – This one is a real vibe. Also available in black and white for lots of options, but this natural wood is so good. This wishbone style is classic mid-century modern and the natural hemp woven rope seat is going to be comfortable, long-lasting, and a great compliment to your organic lifestyle.

9. Poly & Bark Enzo Dining Chair – This rounded dining chair is a fresh take on the wishbone style and has such beautiful lines. Also comes in a gorgeous black. Hard to find it in stock, but I found it in stock and on sale, so check out this link!

Tips for Choosing Dining Chairs:

  1. Measure the chair from the floor to the seat: Look at the floor to seat measurement for the chair and compare to the height of your table. I’ve made the mistake of not doing that and thinking that they’re all standard heights, and we’ll just say they weren’t the most comfortable chairs at the time.
  2. Also, measure the width of the chair and compare it to your table. You may be hoping to fit three side-by-side on one side of the table, but if there’s a wide curved back, this may not work out.
  3. Read the reviews: If you’re shopping for a family, look at reviews to see if you can learning anything about how the chairs are holding up over time to find the right one for your crew.
  4. Check return policies: I’ve shopped all these brands and sites and had no issues with returns or with replacements for damaged products, but it’s always a good idea to check again when you buy.
  5. Got kids? Keep it easy: I tried to go for the gorgeous upholstered chairs with kids once. I used Scotchguard. I did all the things. But, it was just too much work. They got replaced with easy to clean chairs and my life got a little bit easier. When my kids are older, I may go back to a chair I find more aesthetically pleasing, but for now? Keep it easy.

One way I save money on purchases I’m making anyway is using the Rakuten bookmark. It’s like a super coupon that offers cash back on purchases, as well as searches for current coupons for the item you’re looking for. I’ve gotten over $1000 in cash back from them since I started using it. You can get $30 off your first purchase with Rakuten using my referral link (sometimes, the bonus is even higher, too!). Don’t spend more money than you have to. Check out Rakuten here.
