An Easy Laundry Room Refresh with Wayfair

I don’t know about your laundry room, but mine had become the land of broken laundry baskets and lost socks. I’ve always had plans to do something fun in here, like wallpaper or some cute art, but other spaces in the house were always the priority.

That’s why now that all my laundry baskets are broken and I still can’t pick out the wallpaper I want, I decided to put a little love into the room I spend time in almost daily. Alright, who are we kidding, I go in here every day.

It was a lot easier than I thought it would be to freshen up my laundry room decor. I got all of the items for affordable prices off Wayfair and it’s been so nice. Before I show you all the items I picked and what I like about them, I thought it would be fun to take a walk down memory lane.

Laundry Room: The Before

This is half of my laundry room. I’m taking this picture from the other side of the room where there’s open shelves. We store blankets, pool towels, seasonal clothes and other things here. When the door is open, you can see into the loft/game room. I’m very grateful to have a good size laundry room, but over time, all of my laundry basket handles broke off and the jagged plastic snags my clothes or scratches my skin. Plus, the clothes hamper has a metal edge that has bent, creating a strange shape and a sharp point. Any lost socks get piled on top of the dryer until I eventually give up on them and toss them, and there’s no decor at all. That’s it – that’s all I’ve had in here. For a space I use all the time, it was time to show it a little love.

So, going into my plan for an upgraded laundry room, I knew there were a few things that could make this space work better for our family.

  • A larger hamper, maybe a rolling one
  • More laundry baskets, preferably collapsible, so I can stack them easier
  • Some kind of wall art to fill in the space, maybe something with a laundry theme
  • Baskets for the dryer to hold things like socks, dryer balls, etc.
  • A soft rug for the floor that is washable and thin enough to not get stuck under the door when it opens.

Luckily, I found everything I wanted on Wayfair. It was shipped quickly and really helped transform the space into something much more functional. While I bought these items with my own money, I did partner with Wayfair on this post, which means these are affiliate links. If you do choose to make a purchase through my links, I may receive a commission at no cost to you.

New & Improved Laundry Room Refresh:

This washable rug ended up being the perfect size and shape for this room. It makes such a difference when I’m standing on the tile floors all the time. I only wish I had gotten it sooner, honestly. And, when it starts to get dirty, I can toss it in the washer. I’m all about washable rugs lately. I’m linking some other washable rugs I almost bought, too!

I’m such a fan of collapsible laundry baskets. I feel like they’re made of better, thicker plastic and last longer. I can collapse them or just stack them on the top of the hamper when it’s closed, too, getting them off the floor. It seems like such a small thing to have new laundry baskets, but I’m so happy about it. Haven’t scratched myself in days, lol.

The rolling laundry hamper is perfect. The top lifts up and I can pull out the three hampers if needed. This holds so much more than my previous one and I can sort by colors if I want to. The padded top also doubles as an ironing board – super convenient. I love that it rolls around, too. I can just pull it over when I need it and roll it back. I’m linking some other hampers I also considered.

The wall art pulls everything together. I went with framed prints with laundry symbols and tips. Now, I don’t have to google these things when I’m in the middle of laundry! I got bigger sizes to take up more of the wall space and they fit perfectly in here. So excited that I could order them framed and didn’t have to do it myself! And, since there’s no glass, I don’t have to worry about anything breaking if a towel gets flung in here and knocks one off the wall.

The set of two wicker baskets are perfect on the dryer. I’m using one for dryer balls and one for lost socks. I could see using these in a lot of other spaces, so I might even pick up some more sets. I love the lower front. These would be perfect in a pantry for snacks, too.

Overall, I’m super happy with how these items have refreshed my space. If you need to do a little laundry room refresh too, I’m linking to everything I picked and some more items I also liked. I thought this was a frivolous thing to do at first, but it’s really improved this daily task for me.
