back to school clothes with stitch fix kids

It’s almost time to head back to school! Are you excited or dreading it? I’m a mixture of both, but ready or not, it’s coming, and that means it’s time to get back to school clothes and supplies. A few years ago, I ordered Stitch Fix kids boxes to be delivered a couple weeks before school starts and my kids loved it so much, I’ve continued doing it every year. This also infuses their back to school wardrobes with some fun pieces I wouldn’t be able to find anywhere else and they love opening the boxes and seeing what’s inside.

The first box that came this year was for my son and it was full of fun, comfy pieces that are going to be great for going back to school. It’s still really warm here, so it’s all shorts and short-sleeved shirts for us. And, thanks to a fun promotion Stitch Fix is running, my total box cost was even lower than usual. I’ll share all the pricing for you down below. And, if you’ve been considering a Stitch Fix for your kids, you can use my referral link to get $25 off your own box! We pay for these boxes ourselves and love them.

Such a fun box full of great pieces. The box came with 4 pairs of shorts, 5 shirts, a pajama set and light up Skechers. Everything fit perfectly and was a big win.

Heres a close up of the shorts. They’re lightweight, athletic material, which is perfect for the hot days coming.

I love that the shirts are from exclusive lines that only Stitch Fix has. I am a big fan of their Rumi + Ryder line. The clothes are super cute, really soft, and wear very well. Big fan and this outfit was a big winner for us, since we are in a big dinosaur phase over here:

The pajamas glow in the dark, which is very fun and the fabric is so soft. We always ask for pajamas in their box, because the Stitch Fix kids pajamas are some of our all-time favorites over here:

The shirts were so cute! With shark anatomy, gecko anatomy, glow in the dark details, and an unidentified pizza object that made my son laugh out loud:

Anyone else in a major shark phase at their house? Sharks, dinosaurs, we are all in with them over here.

The shoes were a big win as well. The dramatic green detail on the bottom lights up. Plus, Skechers are a major kid fave in this house. We usually get all of the kids Skechers for back to school and this checked one pair off my list!

Overall, this fix was exactly what we were looking for. I’ve snagged a few other things for him, including a fun dinosaur backpack and lunch box and some good basics that will mix and match with everything.

If you’re looking for a fun, easy way to get ready for back to school, check out Stitch Fix Kids! We’ve used it for years and have learned how to make our fixes as good as possible.

All of these items with the full box discount and a $25 promotion cost around $130. I think that’s a great deal for everything, including shoes and pajamas!

Stitch Fix Kids Tips:

When requesting you fix, here are the things I do to make the fix as close to what we need as possible:

  • Update all sizes. Easy to forget if your profile is old. Clothes that don’t fit aren’t helpful, lol.
  • Write a detailed note. Let them know what styles your kids like, what kind of characters, fabrics. Share what they need right now. I even include the weather! Fall clothes are out, but it’s still 100 degrees! We needed summer clothes!
  • Fill out the profile. You can share what kinds of clothes you want, the price range, and a lot more. Take the time to fill it all out.
  • Share what you don’t want. This is really important. If you don’t want crop tops,  zippered pants, or structured clothes – say that. If you are looking for collared shirts and dress up clothes, let them know!

Basically, take the time to fill out the profile and leave a nice note with helpful information. By doing this, we have had a much higher success rate with our clothes boxes.

I hope this helps give you some ideas! It really can be a fun way to update your wardrobes with minimal effort. When you keep the entire box, you get at 25% discount on the entire thing, which brings the cost per item way down.
