The holidays are here, folks. It’s only taken me over a decade of being a mom to realize that I have to do a better job of taking care of myself during the holidays (well, all year, really, but especially during the holidays). That means, watching what I eat so I don’t shove a bunch of inflammatory foods in my mouth and then wonder why I don’t feel well. This strawberry banana protein powder has made it so easy for me to get a quick, nutritious, protein packed meal in minutes.
Naked Nutrition is one of my favorite companies for clean, high quality, affordable protein powders and so when I had a chance to try this Strawberry Banana Naked Shake with vegan protein powder, I was all in. I’ve been playing with the recipe to get it just right for me, and now I’m going to share the super simple tips with you below.
Naked Shake Strawberry Banana Vegan Protein Powder:
Let’s chat about this meal in a bottle. You really don’t have to add anything other than this powder to your milk of choice and maybe a little ice. I spruce it up because strawberries are my favorite thing and I like a little more pow of strawberry flavor, but I’ve also blended this up with protein milk and called it a meal, too.
What I love about this, and all of Naked Nutritions products, is how they’re formulated. The protein comes from raw vegan peas, extracted with water and not the use of chemicals. They source their peas from environmentally friendly farms in the US and Canada. Then, they add the rest of the ingredients, but leave out the gross stuff. There’s no artificial sweeteners, flavors, or colors. The ingredients are also soy free, GMO free, and gluten free. Literally, couldn’t be easier to get a fruity, protein packed smoothie with super low sugar (just 3g), lots of protein (up to 20g), and just 130 calories if you’re not adding anything with additional calories.
For me, I like to add a few things. Keep reading to find out how I mix it.

This is so fast and easy to make. Here’s what I use:
- 1 cup or 8 oz. of milk of choice. I usually use a protein milk.
- 1-2 scoops of the Naked Shake Strawberry Banana Protein Powder. I’ve been doing one when I add things to it. Two scoops makes it a nice, thick, creamy smoothie.
- 1/2 cup strawberries. Cleaned, hulled, and fresh or frozen.
- 1/2 cup ice. You don’t want too much ice or it’ll get chunky.
- 1-2 tbsp. agave syrup or honey. Because no sweeteners are added, sometimes I like to add a little squeeze or two of sweetener. Other times, I just let the strawberries add that flavor.
- Top with whipped cream, because why not? Life is short.
I’m sure you could come up with other things to add. A half frozen banana would up the banana flavor and also add that sweetness without the honey or agave. There’s lots of ways you could use this as a base for other drink ideas.
The most important thing is finding a protein powder or shake mix that you’re going to actually drink and won’t leave you reaching for the french fries or other snacks. The holidays are a magical time of year that I look forward to, but there is an endless to-do list for moms and since we’re usually pretty bad at taking care of ourselves when life is normal, it can be especially hard when we’re so focused on creating memories for everyone around us.
This has become one of my easy go-to protein shake recipes, but there are some other Naked Nutrition products that I also have on hand and use to create delicious shakes. Check out these recipes.
