4 Free Back To School Printables for Kids

free back to school printables for kids

Well, it’s time to go back to school! The summer both flew by and also crawled at a snail’s pace – depending on which day you asked me, lol. But, the excitement to go back to school and see friends again was at an all-time high this year, so I am grateful for that. I shared recently that we used Stitch Fix boxes to help round out their new school clothes and they have been loving picking out their new outfits each day.

But, I also shared some fun, free back to school printables in that post and thought it would also be nice to have a separate post with just those links. With a free Back to School I Spy game, a free back to school goal setting chart, a free back to school shopping list organizer, and even free multiplication charts (3 versions), there are four awesome printables that you can download for zero dollars. I don’t know about you, but I feel like every dollar we make is flying out the door faster than ever, so zero is my favorite my number right now. You’re welcome to download these, use in your classroom, at home, whatever you need. If you do share them on your own social media or site, I do ask that you tag me or link to my original page to give credit.

Let’s check out some freebies!

Free Back To School Printables for Kids:

1. Back To School I Spy Printable Game:

I have a ton of free I Spy games on the blog, because my kiddos love them! When they’re black and white like this, they can double as a coloring page.

Here are a few things I Spy activities are good for:

  • Practicing counting by looking for each item on the list
  • Writing numbers for each of the items
  • Fine motor skills for coloring
  • Helps develop visual discrimination – or the ability to recognize visual details in a picture
  • If you use a color key, such as “use red for the apple”, then they will also be practicing colors
  • If you allow kids to work together, it’ll also encourage collaboration and teamwork

2. Back To School Goal Setting Printable:

I saw something like this awhile back and just loved it, but I wanted to make it my own. This is such a great way to set the tone for the school year. Kids are really great at knowing what they want to learn and they’ll happily share it with you when asked. I taught middle school for a long time and I learned how powerful it is to build that positive, collaborative relationship with students early on. It made for a much smoother, more successful, school year. This could easily be used with a homeschool program as well.

3. Free Multiplication Chart Printables:

Math facts are hard to learn and require years of repetition. It’s okay to need a little help! These charts cover the multiplication tables for numbers 1-12. There are three versions so your kiddo can pick which they prefer. You’ll need a color printer to print these or you can get them printed at a place like Office Depot. I laminated mine using my little at-home laminator *(yes, I have a laminator…former teacher here). It just makes them easy to clean and use. Kids can even write on them with Expo markers, too, and you can wipe it off.

These are perfect for use at home or homeschool – or even in the classroom if you wanted to make a class set that you can laminate and reuse. For even more fun ways to teach multiplication and math, check out my blog post with our favorite math games.

4. Free Back To School Shopping List:

Back to school shopping seems more expensive than ever! This list may not be exactly for kids, but the clothes you buy them will be! Make sure you get what they need and will wear by using this list to identify what you have that fits and what you need. I go through my kids clothes at the end of every summer. We have a little fun trying things on and bagging up what is ready to get shared with younger kids. Then, we know exactly what we need for a new school year.

I hope to come up with some more back to school printables soon and when I do, I’ll add them to this list!

Wishing you and yours a smooth and positive start to the new school year. I’m realizing these years fly by just as fast as everyone warned me they would and I try my best to slow down, enjoy it, and make these moments as memorable for all of us as I can.

Have a fabulous day,

E
