The Perfect Halloween Movie Night for Kids

Halloween movie night for kids

My kids are finally at ages where all of them enjoy watching movies. It feels like it took awhile to get here, but now that we are, I am having so much fun with it. Sure, we all love to go to the movie theatre, but with five people, that’s not only an expensive adventure, but it can also be stressful. Sometimes, it can be difficult for my younger ones to sit through an entire movie without moving around, among other things.

So, this summer, we started doing movie nights at home, where we got our favorite snacks and got everything set up.  With a little bit of prep and setup, it sets the mood more than just throwing something on the TV. Plus, we picked movies each time that none of us had seen, such as the new Garfield movie, If, and Despicable Me 4. All of them are so good, by the way, although If was a little slow.

Now that we’re getting closer to Halloween, I’ve started thinking about Halloween movies I think they might like. I shared 30 Halloween movies for different ages in this post. And, I’m picking up a few Halloween themed items to set the mood and create a fun Halloween movie night at home. Plus, once I put out all my Halloween decorations, it’ll read add to the ambience.

Just for fun, I thought I’d share some things we have and like or want to pick up for our next Halloween movie night. I hope this gives you ideas on how to make something ordinary a little more exciting and memorable.

A Halloween Movie Night for Kids:

1.Movie Night Snack Trays – They have a zillion colors and designs of these. They are so easy to use and can be tossed when you’re done. They fit a snack, drink, and popcorn.

2. Microwave Popcorn Maker  – I’ve had this exact popcorn maker for years in white and we use it all the time. It’s the best! Makes perfect, fluffy popcorn every time!

3. YumEarth Halloween Fruit Snacks –  Gotta have some kind of themed sweet treat! These are in the shape of bats, fangs, and other spooky things.

4. Halloween Cups –  Love themed cups. Plus, if we’re in the living room, it’s lids and straws all the way over here. I try to minimize clean-up whenever possible, lol.

5. Popcorn Seasoning Variety Pack  – Toppings make it fun! This 8-pack has all the good flavors we love: caramel corn, butter, cheesy jalapeno, ranch, white cheddar and more. Just make sure to add these when you have your popcorn in the kitchen – otherwise, it’ll get all over place.

6. Cozy Sherpa Blanket –  Gotta have those blankets! My oldest and I made no sew, tie Halloween blankets for the kids this year, which I don’t recommend, it took forever, lol, but these sherpa ones look super soft and are at a great price point!

Listen, nothing about this is groundbreaking, lol. I realize that. But, I know I benefit from watching videos on social media where other people turn simple things into beautiful memories. It’s always a nice reminder that the little things can be the big things.

I’ve got a lot more fun Halloween and holiday content on the blog! Take a look at some of these posts:

Hope you found something fun for Halloween!

Have a fabulous day,
