33 Easy Updo Tutorials for When It’s So Hot, You’re Melting [With VIDEOS!]

It’s a million degrees here. Sometimes, I literally feel like I live on the surface of the sun.

On days like this, there is just no way I am busting out my favorite hot tools and going to town – and even if I did, two seconds outside and I would look like this:

That’s when I resort to the busy mom badge of honor: The Messy Bun. But, that gets old. Luckily, the internet is full of inspiration for super easy summer hairdos.

Easy Hair Updos for When It’s Super Hot Outside:

I figured I’m not the only person looking for easy ways to style my hair and look (and feel) human when it’s hotter than hades. Here are my favorite easy summer updo tutorials from gorgeous hair bloggers on YouTube. I hope you find something to help you get your hair off your neck! Enjoy!

1. Top Knot Messy Bun

Hey, this girl’s name is Erica, too! Bravo! We’re a smart bunch.

She’s fun to watch and her version of the top knot messy bun is certainly classier than my usual messy bun. So, score for being able to upgrade my go-to updo.

2. Easier Than it Looks Updo

Boom, just like that you’re ready for a date night.

I’ve been mesmerized by the Small Things Blog hair tutorials for awhile now. Pretty sure everyone is. This one has 12 million views on YouTube, so, I think you’re in good hands with this one.

3. Bubble Bun Tutorial

Super fun, short video to watch on how to make a “bubble bun” and I think she also calls it a “fan bun” in the video.

Makeup Wearables is a great YouTube channel full of super easy, useful beauty and hair hacks.

4. 3 Lazy, but Elegant 5-Minute Updos

Here she is again, with one of her newer videos, on 3 gorgeous, fast updos. It’s pretty mesmerizing to watch how quickly she gets these perfect styles. It would take me some practice to get this good, but the end result seems worth the effort!

5. 10 Easy Summer Hairstyles with Bandanas!

This video is so fresh and fun – just perfect for summer.

I love how she uses a colorful bandana to spice up easy hair looks for summer.

I think so many of these would work great with air-dried hair using my fave products.

Milabu is another YouTube fixture and has so many great ideas.

6. 7 Easy Ponytails for Spring and Summer

I’m a huge fan of ponytails. Something about having at least some hair down makes me feel like I actually tried.

These are not your average ponytails, though. With little twists here and braids there, you’ve just amped up your ponytail game – and barely spent any time at all doing it.

This fun video is from Aspyn Ovard. These styles have this fun, almost beachy, boho chic look. Great if you have a little bit extra time to put into something really different and fun.

Aspyn has a lot of great content as well, spanning more subjects than just hair.

8. 3 Humidity Proof Hairstyles for Curly Hair

If you’ve got curly or flat-ironed hair that will spring back up into curls the second you walk out into the heat, these 3 adorable, humidity proof hairstyles are for you!

I can’t believe how fast she whips these styles up. Very impressive.

9. French Braid Low Bun

Looking for something a bit more intricate or chic? Or, just love braids?

10. Cute Messy Bun

If you’re comfortable with your bun, but want to up your daily game – this messy bun tutorial was made for you.

Of course, we all hope we look as adorable as Mikaela with a big, messy bun, but I’m not sure my fine hair will stretch that far.

Still, it would be an improvement from what I usually get – and only cost me a couple minutes.
